In a letter dated October 28, 2007, the American Animal Hospital Association says in part:
Dear Animal Hospital of Chetek:
On behalf of the American Animal Hospital Association, I extend my congratulations to your team for successfully achieving practice accreditation. Through this major accomplishment, you belong to a select group of practices committed to meeting the highest standards in veterinary medicine. We recognize the role each member of your staff played in successfully achieving accreditation and share in their excitement and pride in this accomplishment.
I am pleased to present you with the enclosed accreditation symbol to promote your status as an AAHA Accredited Practice Member. By displaying this, you can share your team's dedication to AAHA's high standards of excellence with your clients. To further illustrate this commitment, you are encouraged to use the AAHA logo throughout your practice (such as window and door decals, placement on letterhead, business cards, newsletters, brochures, website, etc.)...
You can see our AAHA Accreditation plaque hanging in our waiting room!
Congratulations to everyone at the Animal Hospital of Chetek !
The Animal Hospital of Chetek is certified by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA). You can visit their site at www.healthypet.com
We received our initial certification in 1997 and recently received another 3-year certificate. In Wisconsin, less than 100 hospitals are AAHA certified. Nationwide only 15% of veterinary hospitals achieve this level of quality medical care for your pet. To become an AAHA hospital member, the candidate hospital must meet AAHA's standards for hospital services and facilities in 12 specific areas. Each AAHA hospital is regularly inspected by trained consultants to make sure it meets AAHA's very high veterinary care standards.
The American Animal Hospital Association
AAHA was founded in order to develop standards of excellence for veterinary hospitals. That same guiding principle is alive and well today through the association's accreditation of small animal practices. Today more than 2800 hospitals throughout the US and Canada are accredited hospital members of AAHA. To achieve this mark of distinction, hospitals must be in accordance with more than 300 standards covering the following areas:
* Medical Records
* Examination Facilities
* Pharmacy
* Pathology
* Diagnostic Imaging
* Anesthesiology
* Surgery
* Dentistry
* Nursing Care
* Nutritional Counseling
* Pain Management
* Housekeeping and Maintenance
* Continuing Education
* Emergency Services
To become accredited, hospitals must undergo an evaluation by a trained AAHA practice consultant every 3 years. This individual tours the hospital to review the standards and provides guidance for successfully achieving standards compliance.
AAHA standards are recognized as the industry's benchmark for quality companion animal practice. AAHA is the only organization that accredits small animal hospitals throughout the US and Canada.
